Pope Benedict XVI

Today will be Pope Benedict's final day as Pope.  James has been talking for weeks about the Pope "leaving" and us getting a new Pope.  The boys Aunt and Uncle bought them a book a few years back about the Pope and even though we have read the book many times it has never had as much meaning as it does right now.   I love how simple the book explains the role and position of the Pope and I am thankful for this opportunity to get to share  with the boys about the Church and about the Pope.  I thought I would share a few pages from the book as talking points to share with your kids or other people who have questions about the Pope.

 Pope Benedict's ring will still be destroyed but they will save the ring to be buried with him when he dies.

Happy 4th Birthday James :)

 James loves superheros so to celebrate turning 4 he had a superhero party with family and some close friends.  

Nathan and I are so grateful that God blessed us with our sweet James 4 years ago.  Love you buddy!

The Lord is Good

We are blessed to announce that we are expecting baby Smoter #4 to arrive in early August. Nathan, myself and the boys could not be more thrilled! While this news is beyond exciting we are changed by Joshua's life and we are so aware that we are not guaranteed anything. We desperately await this child's entrance into the world and we ask for prayers for a healthy baby and delivery.

I trust in your faithfulness. Grant my heart joy in your help, That I may sing of the LORD,  "How good our God has been to me!"  PSALM 13:6

Petting Zoo

I am so behind on blogging.  A few weeks ago James' Pre School had a petting zoo come to his school.  John Patrick and I were able to participate as well.  Here are some pictures :)
